Dear Family, Friends, and whom ever is reading,

A couple of years ago I sensed God was asking me to go beyond my comfort zone and be a missionary around the world. Over the last few summers I have had the blessing of being able to travel on mission trips to Kenya and Nicaragua, spreading the gospel, caring for orphans and widows, praying over the sick, ministering in communities, and sharing God’s love with everyone. On these trips God has shown me how broken the world is, but I’ve also seen the power of God’s healing and love. With each trip I have found God continuing to show me his mercy and grace for those who love him. As I went on these mission trips, I felt God asking me to trust him and to go on mission for a longer period of time. I have spent much time in prayer and listened to where God is leading me to go in my life. At this time, I feel God calling me to serve with Adventures in Missions on The World Race.

Adventures in Missions was established in 1989 out of Gainesville, Georgia. Their missions emphasize unifying the body of Christ, discipleship, and bringing the Gospel to the lost. The World Race is an 11 month Christian mission trip to 11 countries around the world. This mission is an intensive discipleship program designed to launch my generation into our specific kingdom calling. Through the World Race, my team and I will serve in partnership with local ministry groups in communities to do: Construction projects, work in orphanages, minister to women and children involved in human trafficking, conduct home visitations with the sick, aid in providing medical care and basic needs, put on sports camps, help with disaster relief, and bring the Gospel and hope of the Lord’s love to many tribes and nations. The countries I will be ministering in are: Philippines, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Malawi, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Ireland, Moldova, Bulgaria, and Romania. The World Race is not a mission for the faint of heart. This is a backpacking mission trip. Depending on which country I am in, and where I am located, I could be living in my tent, a hostel, or with a host family.

I will face many challenges all throughout the mission, but as I prepare for my departure, one of my greatest challenges is my financial support.  Like most other missions organizations, World Race participants are required to fundraise financial support. In order to leave fully funded in January 2015, I need to raise $16,243. The funds raised through AIM cover my travel, housing, some food, and insurance for the course of the mission trip. Independently, I have been raising funds to help cover the cost of all my gear, supplies, shots/medications, and flights to training camp/departure/return.

As I take this large leap of faith, would you please consider joining my mission team and supporting me spiritually/financially?  Please feel free to contact me with further questions! For more information please take the time to visit my website: www.amydavis.theworldrace.org.

In Him,
