"May these words of my mouth and this meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer." Psalm 19:15 .
There will come a time in your life when you will simply have to wait.
Waiting in line at the grocery store. Waiting for a text message/phone call. Waiting for your dinner to be done. Waiting for your sister to get ready…
Though some of these can cause us to be slightly frustrated or impatient-sometimes the hardest thing that we can do is to wait for the Lord.
1 word. 1 definition. Infinite meaning.
So, then I have to ask myself.. Why is it so hard for us to wait upon the Lord. Why can't it be as simple as us waiting for our turn at the doctor or waiting for the light to turn green? Why do we get so frustrated when waiting for God and His direction and will for our lives.
Then I think, when we are waiting for things of this world we get responses in a time that benefits the world- benefits the flesh. When we are waiting upon the Lord, we are waiting for a God who is infinitely greater than we are. He was, He is, and He is to come. When we wait upon the Lord- the response is accordance to the Spirit.
We get so frustrated because our eyes and mind are focused on the flesh and our world. We want to know answers and directions based upon what we deem to be rightly justified to our schedule. It's easier for us to see the timing right in front of us instead of the time and perfect will and plan God has for us.
All I can think about right now is the story of Sarah and Abraham. Sarah and Abraham wanted to have a son for so long but were not able to conceive. The begged and pleaded with the Lord and God responded and said you will have a son in His timing. But Sarah and Abraham didn't trust God at His word and Abraham conceived a son through their servant named Hagar. Then soon afterwards, Sarah and Abraham had a son through the will of God and not through their own means.
His promise remained true but they weren't able to wait. So, they took it into their own hands.
How many of us are sitting at a red light with God and asking for His direction and will for our lives. Instead of waiting for the light to turn green and for Him to tell us to go.. we tend to run the red light and take control for ourselves.
Guys, let's wait for the green light. The "go" from upon High.
Trust in the God who loves you. Trust in the God who made you. Trust the God who saved you.
To all of you future racers (like me) don't give up just yet because you don't see the money coming in like you would imagine. Don't be discouraged by the world but instead be encouraged by the One who is in complete control. He never lets anything go to waste.
To all of you current racers, keep the faith and keep going and trusting in Him. He is our ultimate provider and strength. He will direct your paths.
To all of my friends and family, remember this verse…
"Trust in the Lord your God with all your heart. Depend not on your own understanding but seek His will and He will direct your paths" Proverbs 3:5-6
Nothing is impossible for God.
Be encouraged and keep running the race.
