We arrived safely in Jinotepe, Nicaragua.  We drove to El Salvador and spent the night in the capitol, San Salvador.  Then another 12 + hour bus ride to Nicaragua.  It wasn’t a problem going through Honduras.  The scenery on the road was beautiful, but b/c of the wild driving I chose to sleep through most of it.  We stayed at Hotel Casa Mateo the first week that our contacts, Glenn and Lynne own.  We’ve been staying at La Quinta Esperanza “The House of Hope.”  That is the children’s home that Glenn and Lynne run.  Here’s their ministry web site: http://ministeriomateo516.org/history.html  We’ve been going to the “Barrios” where the poor people live and playing with the kids there.  Some of our team plays soccer with the older kids and the rest of us play with the hurd of smaller kids.  They enjoy jumping and haning all over us.  We’ve also done small skits and services with them.  Tonight we’re going to have a Talent Show at the Quinta and we’ve invited all the kids from the Barros to come.  I’m sure many of them will come, esp. since we said there’s prizes.

Some of the kids at La Quinta.  Most of them can speak English, well enough to have conversations.
