When I started the two weeks of tramping I’m not really sure what I expected.

I know that I was excited to get to see so much of New Zealand. I also know that I thought we would see people along the way. And when we saw all those people I expected God to speak to me and my teammates and for us to be able to share what He was saying with them.
I did see a lot of beautiful country side and we did see people…they were just very few and far between. And God was speaking, He was most definitely speaking. We were able to get to know a few fellow travelers along the way and share with them. I don’t know what impact we had in their lives but I know that God used these people to bless my team.

We were blessed over and over again. It may seem insignificant to someone else but to me the sausages that a fellow camper had ‘accidently’ cooked too many of, the juice and oranges and the use of electricity that a family gave to us, and the tour of the farm at our last campsite were where I heard Jesus speaking to me.

I had been expecting God to do some really big things on this tramping trip. And by really big I meant multiple people meeting Jesus for the first time and lots of people being healed.

I learned that the things that appear insignificant to most are exactly where I need to be paying attention. God is speaking in the small things. Yes He speaks in the ‘big’ ways of healing and salvation too. But, if those are the only things I hear God speaking then I’m missing so many things along the way.

More to come…
