Before leaving Cambodia my team got the chance to stay in Siem Reap for a couple of nights and visit the Angkor Wat temples.
We left our guesthouse at 6 am to get a head start on the heat and the crowd. I’ve never been a big fan of mornings but it was totally worth missing my sleep to escape some of the heat.
I’d seen a few pictures of the temples from other racers who had already been but didn’t know what to expect outside of some really big stone structures.
The more I saw the more amazed I became at the creativity that went into the temples.
And then I started to think about the fact that the creativity that was used to build these temples came straight from the Creator.
God created these people with all their creative genius.
in order to better worship a different god.

And yet God loves them still.
I became so overwhelmed with God’s love for these people.
They used everything that He gave them to do exactly what He asked them not to do and still He loves them with an everlasting, indescribable love.

The trees roots have ruined the foundations and broken down walls.
These trees have slowly but surely destroyed what men have built.
God loves us enough to make His presence known even where He is uninvited.
We may use everything God gives us to do exactly the opposite of what we should.

But His love is everlasting.
His presence is everywhere.
His love will never fail.
Jesus is the ultimate tomb raider.
