Romania . . .
We traveled by train to get to Targu Mures, Romania.
That was a first for me. I’ve decided I prefer train travel to bus or plane.
You get to see so much of the country and have room to get up and move around
or lay down and take a nap.
The city of Targu Mures is full of statues.
We spent some time talking to people in this little park.
You can see the women sitting on the bench. One of them was from Budapest and she was visiting her mother(the other women) in Targu Mures.
She invited me to come to her home for tea if I ever made it to Budapest.
She even gave me her address and both of her phone numbers 🙂
This is Christopher. He is the son of Pastor Z., who was our contact this month.
Christopher loved handing out the fliers and inviting people to the concert.
His enthusiasm was a big encouragement to the rest of us.
At the first concert – which is what we were handing out the fliers for – the nice gentleman decided to give me a little back rub and then show me a little affection.
It made us all giggle just a little 🙂
We went to a park one day to talk to some students.
The students left pretty soon after we got there.
While we were waiting on what to do next this young man and a friend came up. We never learned their names, because they didn’t speak English.
My teammates affectionately refer to them as Thing 1 and Thing 2.
They laughed and played with us. I know they brought some joy to my heart.
I’m hoping we did the same for them.
We visited a Gypsy village one afternoon and ended up playing with a ton of children for a few hours. This is Deborah. She stuck really close that day.
We traded bracelets and took lots of pictures together.
She loved to dance and play. Surrounded by poverty and she was so full.
I pray that the joy continues throughout her life and that she one day truly meets the Giver of that joy.

On one of our days off we were able to go to the Targu Mures Zoo.
Believe it or not the restrictions in the zoo aren’t that strict.
We were able to get just about this close to most of the animals — Including the bears and lions.
It was a fun day!!
