There are some days on this trip where I don’t know what to
do with myself.
I have fallen in love with this traveling for Jesus life.
And Jesus has given me a crazy love for my teammates.
Then come the days that the internet that has worked for
everyone else not only stops working for me but causes my computer to freeze in
the process.
But still most days I don’t want to even think about going
home.
And then there are days like today when I would rather go
home than do almost anything else.
I’m frustrated with the slowness of things and the flies
that won’t leave me alone.
I’m just sitting here trying to spend some time with Jesus
and my team leader asks me to go door to door with her for an hour to pray with
the people in the community.
I want to ask her to get someone else. But, I know that I need to get up and
go.
So we go.
As we go, it starts to rain and I’m reminded of the day in
New Zealand when we were tramping and it started to rain and my attitude plain
stunk.
Jesus gave me a rainbow that day to remind me of His love
for me and I remember saying ‘Ok. Yes, you are worth it. Jesus you are worth it.’
I declared that He was worth any amount of rain on my face.
And today as we were walking in the rain, again, I made
myself declare it again.
Jesus, you are worth it!
As we went from house to house today we escaped the worst of
the rain and were able to pray and encourage several women.
Every time it would start to rain harder we would go in a
house and when we were ready to leave the rain had slowed down.
Even though my attitude stunk once again Jesus was faithful.
So, let me say it again, if only to remind myself, JESUS YOU
ARE WORTH IT!
Rain on my face, dirt in my toes, especially then, You are
worth it.
