My team for this month went above and beyond on my birthday.
They succeeded in making me feel special and loved and
I am so very thankful.
The following is the series of events that made up my
Totally Like Awesome birthday.
My first surprise came the night before my birthday. We were able to sleep in the church sanctuary with the AIR CONDITIONING on.
At Midnight my teammate Lindsey gave me my first present. She asked me to tell her 28 things about myself.
As you can imagine this took some time.
But, she listened about my life, my family and about the crazy camp people that I love.
Who doesn’t love to be heard like that?
In the morning we had church and I was told that my real birthday surprises would come later. Even my team was surprised by what happened during church.
Some of the church members heard it was my birthday and got me a cake and a gift.
They surprised me by singing ‘Happy Birthday’ to me during church.
The cake even had my name on it.
Kind of 🙂
This is the pastor’s son Samuel praying for me with the church.
I tried to share some of the icing with Esther.
She wasn’t interested.
And of course I got icing all over me.
Just eating cake.
After church I was told to put on comfortable clothes because I would be getting an hour long massage.
This treat turned into a two hour Thai massage.
Fabulous!
And there were still more surprises to come.
When I got back from the massage we were on our way to an undisclosed destination.
When I opened my eyes we were at Swensen’s.
Maybe some of the best ice cream I’ve ever had.
And there was still more.
The girls know my love for going to the movies by myself and since the theater here in town only shows movies in Thai they set up my very own private theater, complete with snacks.
Thanks ‘again, for the first time’ for making a day that I had not been looking forward to a day that I will never forget.
You guys are definitely TLA!
