Ahhhh, future racers. It is with
great enthusiasm and excitement that I congratulate you on nearing the venture
to training camp! This is a momentous time in your life. You are about to spend
a full week preparing for a wonderfully unique and powerful adventure.
When
I think of training camp, I remember times of team bonding through ridiculous
challenges and circumstances. I remember meeting a wonderful staff full of
genuine, passionate people. I remember eating strange new foods out of sheer
hunger. However, the things about training camp that stick with me the most
were the lessons I learned in the presence of God. During messages and worship
there were so many obstacles and barriers revealed to me that I didn’t even
realize I was holding on to! Because of this new acknowledgement, I had the
opportunity to surrender them to the Father. It was an amazing time of personal
revelation, freedom, and intimacy with the Holy Spirit.
This
aspect of training camp is no accident. In order to experience all that God has
in store for you on this trip, it is so important that you work through all of
the gunk that has built up in your heart. There is no shame in it! Life brings
us all gunk in time! But the sooner you are open to letting it go, the sooner
we can begin to change our focus and see all of the miracles and marvels that
God is ready to pour out on us.
My
main encouragement to you as you prepare for camp is that you prepare your
heart and mind to follow God’s calling during the week, no matter what it looks
like! May your understanding of the Father and His Spirit be as deep and rich
as your openness to Him!
Congratulations again! Have an awesome time at camp!!
Because of Him,
Amiee
