From Running to Crutches:
Do you ever feel like that is the story for your walk with Jesus. The moments when you see all the doors opening up and how clearly you can see the hand of God moving ever before you and with you. Then boom out of no where His voice seems distance, the choices you make are filled with confusion and doubt, Just getting bunion surgery has shown me that physically and relates to my walk with the Lord at times. Yesterday, was a beautiful day filled with sunshine, laughs, smiles, joy, and light hearted jokes. A day I was able to jog around the canal with a permanent smile on my face as I pass person after person, people with families, people who are young, and old. Some who were serious, focused, or joking around.

This is not a picture of me but its how I felt ๐ !
Today I went to surgery to get my bunion repaired, yes I said bunion, not the most flattering word for a surgery, but that’s what being humbled is all about haha. Today I can no longer put weight on my left foot and have been handed crutches to get around. I have never had crutches before, so this was pretty fun to learn to use as trying to rush to the bathroom. Now I have to consciously have to pay attention to each step I take, and I get around at a much slower pace. I am no longer depending on the strength of my legs, but the strength of my arms. I feel like God does that with our relationship with Him. He will strengthen different parts of our character to look more and more like Him, and then we get used to putting our strength in that, when He will all of a sudden move focus to strengthen and reform a different characteristic in us. When this reformation comes it is not easy, usually it is frustrating, exhausting, painful, awkward, and not pretty. BUTTT… when the reformation starts to take place the strength you had will be renewed, and you will run will less pain, straighter, fuller, and more satisfied in each step. I just want to encourage you to continue letting God strengthen and renew all parts of you to look more like Him. He will show you His strength, perseverance, love, laughter, and joy. Yours may not be overcoming crutches, but may be moving mountains, or speaking the voice he has given you, I just want you to know He is with you every step of the way and you can do ALL things in Christ.
James 1: 2-4 consider it pure joy when you endure trials of all kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
1 Peter 5:6-7 Humble yourselves therefore under God’s mighty hand, that he may life you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him for he cares for you.
1 Peter 5: 8-9 Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings.
I Peter 5:10 And the God of ALL grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will HIMSELF restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast. To him be the power forever and ever. Amen.
We serve a great God, who can be trusted, and whose plan is for good and not to harm us ๐ !
Praying you would see His strength and restoration in your life ๐ !!
