Oh the words to describe this amazing but utterly stretching experience! I remember the butterflies in my stomach as we drove through the gates to park and meet everyone on my squad (that I had previously facebook stocked). It was kind of awkward to know so much about people before ever meeting them in person! Walking into the gym to register brought back all the feelings of the first day of school again! I was anxiously wondering who I am going to connect with like the new gal at school. Walking down to set up camp I remember laying all of my things down, when noticing that I have NO IDEA what I am doing or how to set up this tent I was graciously given, Ryan Graydon and Richard Bowman rush to help me set it up.
Crazily it did not take long at all to connect with these amazing people I was surrounded by! Now being home its crazy to think I have done life without them!
God did so many amazing things in my life this past week, giving me so much energy all week WITHOUT my usual fix of caffeine or sleep (crazyyy I know )! He did supply my fix of sugar, so thankful for this J ! The main things that stuck out to me this week is how God uses the body and how powerful it truly is when we all decide to focus our eyes on Jesus and to put each other first.! I was amazed at how accepting and encouraging everyone was!
The men on my squad seriously blew my mind at how pure they are and how well they loved! Trusting men is a huge struggle of mine and I usually try my best to look beautiful on the outside and gain their attention. This time I had no choice to not wear makeup and wear the same clothes over and over again with a smell that was not so pleasant! To these men it made no difference, they did not show me love on how I looked on the outside but yet poured into me drawing out how God views me on the inside and where true beauty comes from! They treated EVERY woman the way they deserve to be treated, I have learned so much from these men and am so thankful for each and every one of them!
The women on my team also pleasantly surprised me with no gossip and no judging, just pure love, encouragement and pure acceptance of how God has uniquely designed us! They are women who fear the Lord, true women of worth and beauty! They are women that speak truth out of love, whose hearts are pure and their beauty shines so brightly.
I am so thankful for the relationships that were formed and continue to form from this week! These are just a few of the amazing things God showed me this week! I will be writing another blog about training camp and hope that this brings you hope, joy and encouragement! Thank you for reading this.
