First I will tell you about the ministry we are working with and the many things we will be doing here and then i will tell you what God is doing in my life ! The place we are doing ministry with has been great… It is a place that takes in children who have been abandoned , abused, and orphans. This ministry also does outreach in the community, they have a feeding center, a sewing center, dream center, and a program for children during the day.
The first week we have set up programs for the children who have been off of school, and at first connecting with the kids was a little challenging since they were not the greatest listeners, and the language barrier didn't help. BUT God has shown me so much in that. He has shown me that it takes time for these children to come to know and trust us, He related this back to my relationship with Him.That when I first started my relationship with God there were a lot of areas in my life that i did not trust Him, and He didnt expect me to He desires for me to learn to know Him and then to trustHim. Sometimes we expect for people to trust us so easily, but we forget that this takes time. As my relationship with The Lord has grown so has the areas of my life that I have given to him and my trust in Him has multiplied !! Same with these children the more time and love we have spent and showed them they start to trust us and listen To us a little more each day.
God is so great because not only is he teaching me so much through these children but also through my team and the other team we are with. I cant tell you how much peace comes when you know your exactly where God has called you to be.
This season of my life God is calling me to see him as a husband and he is opening those characteristics to me. Well Angela the leader of fierce pursuit is going through the exact same season, which has been great for us to fall more in love with God AND to keep each other accountable. Also the first day we got here Tesa our leader told us that she loves laying hands on the singles in the group , and how she has an amazing love story !!!! Total Confirmation that this is the place we are supposed to be , Angela and I looked at each other and were filled with joy and smiles so big it made our cheeks hurt.
Oh and I forgot to mention that we fought a fire and won !! As we first proceed to teach the children dance, Zumba, bible stories, and crafts we see a big cloud of black smoke. We try to keep the kids in the prayer hut as we pray on our knees asking God to keep the fire from spreading to the houses. As Becky and I are in charge of the children we see the fire coming closer and closer I see some of our girls struggling to bring big pots of water up the hill to the fire. So I run to the house to see how I can help, I also start filling up water with help and bring it up to the men in our teams to help put out the fire. Praise God that he heard our prayers and stopped the fire right before the gates of the ministry we are staying at.
God is here and is Protecting this place and His hand is here. Satan hates it and it trying to bring destruction BUT God has his victory over this and it's so awesome to see HIS power !!
