People often ask… How did you come about World Race? Honestly, I don’t even know! I mean, I knew that something in life wasn’t quite right and after weeks of searching, came to the decision to leave my job to try and figure things out. Once the decision had been made, what to do with the next year was on the forefront of my mind. I knew my heart was being lead overseas, but wasn't exactly sure what that was going to look like. Talking to numerous people and organizations I was already familiar, nothing seemed to click.
World Race had come up through different facets 3 or 4 times, but when I first heard about the time commitment, I immediately brushed it off thinking 11 months is a long time. I work in 9 week increments, and like that there’s a definite beginning and end to each quarter. (Not to mention the fact that I've never camped and am like 10 years older than most racers 😉 I hadn't really shared interest or thoughts about WR when I received an email directly from AIM, and definitely hadn't spent enough time on the site for them to get any of my information! I don’t know HOW they knew to email, but I know who does 😉
Upon reading said email I audibly said “Okay Lord, what is this all about?” In the middle of watching the Kingdom video, I lost it! Full on crocodile tears, my heart was completely broken, and knew this was it! After a brief discussion with my parents, decided to go ahead and apply. On May 1st submitted my application, May 7th had a phone interview, May 14th was selected to participate, May 24th spoke with my mobilizer, and sent my support letter out on the 26th.
Two months later to the day the Lord has provided over $9,500 in support, almost all of my gear, a Training Camp like nothing I've experienced, and a squad full of amazing individuals I can not wait to spend the next year!!! God is sooo good! Thanks for being a part of this wild ride!

I heart my dubs!
