Happy Monday friends!

Today will be a short-er blog to give some info on support raising. The purpose of this blog is just to give you an update on where I am financially and where I need to be by the end of September. I also have two fundraisers out so I want to clarify on what they are and how they actually contribute to my trip.

My hope is that you as friends, prayer supporter, or financial supporters ( or all of the above:) ) know that I really want to be transparent with you in all areas. If you haven’t been getting my updates for the past three years, here is a warning: I will maybe share things that are pretty personal and not always super glamorous. I think there is something so beautiful about people showing their vulnerability and show what their life is really like. Not the facade that we often see in the world. If we can’t be open and honest with each other then what is the point?

First, I have my first deadline of $5,000 coming up at the end of September. Currently I have $2,500 with donations. If you have received my newsletter, I explained that if 38 people gave $100 a month till the end of the year I would leave fully funded. I have two people already and another family that had pledged monthly as well, praise God!!

Next, I wanted to share my first fundraiser, it’s called adopt-a-box. Basically, I made 100 squares with numbers 1-100. How this works is the number of the box you “adopt” is the amount you would donate. For example, if I adopt box 20 then I would donate $20- seems pretty simple! My goal is to have all 100 boxes adopted by my deadline! I need a bit more than 50 boxes to go, but when that is completely done I will have met my first deadline!! For the adopt-a-box, 100% of your donations go directly towards the race.

My second fundraiser is selling shirts! I just released one shirt Friday- yay! I am hoping to release a second one in October. You can find the link to purchase a shirt below, the shirt sale for this specific shirt will last about three weeks. My goal with this is to sell 50 shirts and I would profit around $600; about 50% of the profits go to me.

So… now what ? When I first made the decision to go on the World Race, that price tag REALLY threw me for a loop. I could use that money to buy a car in cash, put that as a down payment on a house, or fund for a college education. Throughout these three years in Norway, I saw how God showed up time after time. I was able to go to Cambodia twice, live in Norway for three years, attend a seminar in Scotland, have a teaching week in Sweden, had a two-day layover in Hong Kong, and so much more! I could not tell you how it happened, literally. I have tried to sit down with my bank statements and tried to figure it out, but all I can say is God is good! Someone once told me to not make future decisions based on your finances; where God guides He provides, and I am believing that with this trip. I would like you to join me in believing that as well. Right now God has really been speaking to me about trusting Him more than in my abilities, especially when it comes to provision. I am the kind of person who wants to work for everything I have. Trading independence for interdependence is something I have to surrender over and over again. Thank you for taking this journey with me, and being a part of what God is doing in the nations; be blessed 🙂
