We arrived in this beautiful country on Monday afternoon and so far I am in love. We will be staying at the base for most of the time which means amazing dinners from our cook Xinia, swings on the back porch looking at mountains, real toilets, and HOT WATER!! The hot water works if you are willing to give up water pressure, the bunk beds can be a little loud, and I took my first shot at hand washing my clothes the other day (it went well I think but still TBD). Our first adventure day was spent at a market and shopping center just walking around getting lost and finding our way. So far this week has taught me that with ministry, rest needs to follow. My team has spent two days working in a food bank organizing food for families that can’t afford it and it doesn’t feel like a lot yet I am tired. I feel the Lord wants to show me that I can truly rest in Him. Sunday’s are our Sabbath day, which means it’s our time to rest and be with the Lord refilling ourselves. This morning I sat on our back deck looking at the mountain and started by writing down the things I praise him for and then read from Proverbs 15. After I got done reading I sat for a while just talking to God and praying out loud to Him. I have always felt God presence during worship but not so much when I was alone. This morning I felt Him, and I knew He was right beside me, listening and talking back. This month in Costa Rica I am asking God for more moments like this, where He is undeniable both in ministry and in my resting time. Thanks for reading, see ya next week for more updates.
