Hello!

My name is Amelia and welcome to my World Race blog!

Well, I guess I should tell you a little about myself!

I was born and raised in Cocoa Beach, Florida. I moved to northern Minnesota halfway through high school and now currently live in Grand Forks, North Dakota. I never thought that I would be in the Midwest but God has His own plans!

I have an incredible family with two older brothers and four additional step-siblings, a brother and three sisters. I love my parents so much. My dad is so supportive and my Mom is one of my best friends. My step-dad, who passed away in 2010 was a huge encourager and influence in my life. I think I owe a lot of my confidence and where my relationship with the Lord is at because of him, and I can’t wait to be reunited with him in Glory one day.

I absolutely love worship. I’ve had the opportunity to serve on church and campus ministry worship teams and there is nothing else like uniting with other believers and ushering in the presence of the Holy Spirit through music. I am learning guitar and piano when I get the chance but I’m no pro (yet!)  but yeah, MUSIC! I love it! 🙂

Reading: LOVE IT! The Word ( of course), anything by Francine Rivers, I nerd out on anything C.S. Lewis and J.R.R. Tolkien, The Shack by William P. Young, Radical by David Platt, some Ted Dekker, Jane Austen and Charlotte Bronte, and Yes, I am a Harry Potter fan. no shame 🙂

Music: Love Brian and Jenn Johnson, Amanda Cook, Steffany Frizzell-Gretzinger,( any Bethel, really!), The Civil Wars, Givers, Wailin’ Jennys, Elli Holcomb, All Sons & Daughters, Will Reagan and the United Pursuit…I could go on and on

Movies: to name a few -Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Sound of Music, Pride & Prejudice, and Mary Poppins. and Disney. and Netflix, but all in all, not a huge TV fan.

I LOVE coffee and fully appreciate a good cup o’ joe.(or cold brew! )

My ideal moment: would be reading my Bible outside on a chilly morning, drink a good cup of coffee or tea,  looking at a beautiful sunrise mountain scene and just sitting quietly in God’s goodness.

I have never done anything like the World Race , only a few short term missions, so this is new territory. I can’t wait to fall in love with all of the new places and people I will see.
The only expectations I really have for the trip is that I will be completely wrecked and rebuilt by God multiple times throughout my trip and to return as a completely different and better person than when I left and that God will work in more incredible ways that I could’ve ever dreamed and work through me more than I thought possible.

But yeah, that’s it for now!

I will write again soon!
