spiritual warfare : : a very real and dark battle
training camp pushed me on all levels, I was physically sick, ate all kinds of strange foods, met my sweet teammates, precious squad, and fearless leaders, witnessed the Father, witnessed the enemy feast on individuals who are hot after god.
all in all, I am radically changed because of the world race training camp.
it was by far the most trying 10 days of my life, we addressed the hard things and the dark places of our humanness, we sat face to face with the Father, fell to our knees during the most amazing worship I have ever experienced. it was truly incredible.
yes, there were times when I wanted to quit, but : I am better, because I didn’t.
I wanted to leave you with a story from camp.
I want you to see how real the enemy is, but more than that I want you to realize and fully understand how real our Father is.
spiritual warfare is real. and very alive.
but so is my good good Father. and He fights for us.
my team and I were sitting in a circle at dinner and suddenly one of our sweet gals had an allergic reaction and was no longer able to breath.
as we were in a panic, my other teammates assisted her up the hill and into the training center where she was treated by medical professionals (she’s totally fine – PRAISE!)
I followed behind and watched as the Lord literally held her hand and brought her to safety. I watched as my teammate showered her in shouts, prayers, and demands to the Father. prayers for healing. for breath. for restoration.
I watched as satan fought back.
we trembled in fear at the thought that our teammate wouldn’t be okay, and that was the enemy’s power. fear.
2 Timothy 1:7 “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but one of power, love, and sound judgement.”
fear does not come from the Father, fear only comes from the accuser.
the Lord is fighting for us on all sides : : we have no reason to fear.
soon our teammate was able to breath. we gained back our strength. and realized that we had no reason to fear in the first place.
as we spoke with one of our leaders she ended by saying this :
“welcome to the battlefield.”
and wow. that stuck with me.
we never escape the battlefield. we are never “safe”. Jesus ISN’T safe. thats what makes Him good. He fights for us. when satan comes near, the Father comes even closer.
I am firm in this : : satan was defeated a long time ago. he didn’t win. he can’t win. he won’t win.
welcome to the battlefield, my fellow christian warriors.
you, my friend, already have the victory.
