something important I learned in the simplicity of this week:
pushing pause is SO important and vital to your walk with Jesus.
slowing down. living and rejoicing in each moment. not looking ahead, just simply being where you are.
—– jesus whispered this truth to me this week:
“you must slow down, so that you can see and receive all that I am doing for you.”
powerful.
the act of going through the motions seems to creep in when we confine our lives to a schedule.
the most important lesson I have learned through this season is simply this:
the most intimate and raw moments with Jesus are not moments you can schedule into your day. these moments are completely spontaneous and random — and thats the beauty of it.
I find myself getting so wrapped up in a schedule I have set for myself, a list of things to get done, that I totally miss out on what God was doing all day long.
schedules make us unreceptive of the good things He wants to do for us.
so thats the goal: to become receptive. to slow down. to see Jesus in the simple places. to hear Jesus in the quiet moments.
my favorite verse (of the week) has been James 1:17 – “Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like the shifting shadows.”
he is the giver of all good things.
and I know this to be true
…sunset skies, fresh flowers, laughing with your friends, birds quietly but persistently chirping, watching kids play..
these are all super simple yet really good gifts that the Father freely gives to us each day.
it is our responsibility to slow down and give ourselves time to see the good gifts He is planting all around us.
I’m still learning. still learning how to lay my need for control at His feet. still learning how to become receptive to all that He is doing.
He meets us where we are, we just have to be willing to meet Him with open hearts and open minds.
