welcome to our humble abode : I can’t wait to show you around!

one thing you have to know about our home : we love each other and celebrate each other really well

anyways : come on in!!

this is our living room that acts as many other things : each persons bike is stored here, an evening english class takes place here, we have squad devo/worship here, and for every meal we lay out three mats and a long line of tables and we all feast together! the majority of the teams were assigned bikes : each person is in charge of their bike! each person is responsible for adjusting the tire pressure/ getting their bike fixed at the “bike doctor”!

“you break, you buy!”

these bikes are used as transportation to and from ministry each day : or just transportation for exploring the city

my team (Kaleo) is actually serving our own squad this month : we gather food from the market each day, store it in the Chef’s Fridge (marked with the orange stickers), prepare each meal, then serve it from this black table!

you can also see the drying rack for dishes : after each meal we hand wash all of the squads dishes and leave them on the drying rack until the next meal!

and this is the kitchen : a wee bit different from your average kitchen, but it does the job! this is where my team spends the majority of our time: prepping for each day, cooking, dancing, chatting, cleaning, you name it. on the other side of the kitchen is the “pantry” : this is where we store the dishes and non-perishable food items

there is also one bathroom and a sink on this side of the kitchen (bathrooms are always crowded in this house)

the kitchen sink : the sink is so hard to turn on and sometimes weird food gets stuck in the drain – but washing dishes and chatting with a friend never gets old

come on : lets go upstairs!

on the second floor we have three restrooms : each looking like this – a toilet, sink, and a shower head oddly placed somewhere in the room with no shower curtain

definitely not your average shower, but I have no complaints taking a cold shower after a day in this Cambodian heat

let me just say this : in a house with no AC, fans are your best friend.

like i said…. fans are your best friend. communal living is so real : falling asleep to Zoe 101 is also so real.

our bedroom : life gets hectic up here. 40 girls. so many packs. so many sleeping pads. its crazy. our view from the bedroom

another multi-purpose area : the roof!

here we dry our laundry, have quiet time, eno, or (like me) sleep in a tent here every night!

well : that’s it!! thank you for taking time to look into our home for the next three months. we’re still adjusting but we are learning to be at home, even when we are away from home!
