able//
: having the power, skill, means, or opportunity to do something.
i will be brutally honest with you-
with fundraising for the world race comes an overwhelming and almost suffocating amount of stress and fear and doubt.
when i am in over my head, i always find the sweetest refugee in Jesus’ presence,, therefore tonight i ended up running to a super common verse.
“now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine…”
Ephesians 3:20
this verse is rightfully known and clung to because of the words “immeasurably more” – and trust me I find SO much rest in these words.
to think that I can be on my knees begging at the feet of my King for something that seems impossible + he can do even more than the impossible. and he’s willing!
“immeasurably more” is so hopeful. beautiful. peace-bringing. and gracious.
but what spoke to me tonight was the word “able” in this verse.
what a powerful word!!! he is able. he is capable. he is simply more than me.
as a human, its difficult to imagine someone who is higher than us. someone who is capable of miracles. someone who is willing to put his life on the line for me. someone who can accomplish even more than our brains can possibly imagine.
that. that is the awe-inspiring part.
my jesus. this divine being. this person who is ABLE to do immeasurably more. + he is willing to do that for ME. this undeserving sinner. he chooses to look at me and called me loved. he chooses to do the impossible for me.
my humanness can’t quite seem to fully understand,, but Ive learned that I’m not meant to understand.
I’m just meant to have total faith that he who is ABLE, will do what he has promised. it will soon come to pass.
we just have to believe in a god who is able, even when our small little minds can’t begin to understand all that he is.
he is able to do this. he is able to take my pleas and cries for help and turn them into dust compared to the miracles he is working on my behalf.
even when my humanness is simply not enough, when i am spent, when i have no more to offer – there he will be, doing what he is able to do :: more.
i believe in a savior who is able.
