8 months. That’s how long I’ve been gone from home on this crazy adventure called The World Race. From manual labor to children’s ministry to helping feed people, I’ve done a lot of different things in those 8 months. This journey is an amazing opportunity, but just like with a lot of things, it can be tiring. We’re in Colombia at our 5th ministry location. There are a lot of programs and ministries to take part in here. But when you’re physically, emotionally, mentally, and even spiritually drained, it can be hard to fully take part in those ministries.

Sometimes, it’s okay to take a step back. Maybe there’s a way to do ministry while taking a break. There are ministry opportunities besides the ones laid right before you. Our host told us to pray about a special project our squad could do while we’re here. And there was the doorway to the Blankets for Colombia project.

Over the years back at home, I’ve made fleece tie blankets for gifts as well as to donate to the hospital. I like to do crafts and hands-on things like that. It’s something pretty easy that a lot of people can do. It can be a comfort item, practical for warmth, and a daily reminder that people care about them. The idea started as blankets just for children. But after talking with our host, it has grown to include teaching women in their rehab program how to make these blankets and allowing them to keep the blanket they make. That extends the reach this project could have! Would you like to leave a physical item that shows God’s love? We’re saying $15 donated 1 blanket, but we hope to make the money stretch further as some blankets (such as baby blankets) will cost less than the blankets for adults. You can also send us a special note to go with each blanket that we will make sure gets translated into Spanish.

If you would like to be a part of this great opportunity, you can donate through Venmo: @Amber-Phillips-156

Thank you so much! And God bless you!
