What was going to happen with my trip has been up in the air for a while. With COVID-19, so many things are uncertain. I waited for months for the email I finally got this Monday! I was given several options. I could postpone my trip to 2 different times, or I could stick with October but start the journey in the United States. It was a big decision, but I honestly didn’t have to think about it for long. I prayed and thought for a little while but decided the same day. I’m still going to launch in October.
The first few months will be in the US. I’m not certain of what city or cities. Adventures in Missions is still trying to figure things out. Then the hope is we will get to go international in January. They have never started The World Race in the US. We were told it might be “messy” since they’re working it out for the first time. It’s an uncertain journey, but it’s also exciting! I’m the type of person that likes to know what’s going to happen. At work I ask a lot of questions to try to figure out and know what’s going to happen and what the plan is. This is going to push me out of my comfort zone!
One of the reasons I applied for The World Race was because I felt like I was too comfortable in my current situation. The t-shirt I made for fundraising even says “Goodbye Comfort Zone.” I don’t know where I’ll be going or what I’ll be doing. I don’t know whether we’ll get to go internationally in January or not. But I know that God has it all in His hands! God knows what’s best.
“‘For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,’ declares the Lord. ‘As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts.’” Isaiah 55:8-9 (NIV)
I usually get excited about international missions but not about missions in the US. I know sharing the gospel here is just as important as internationally, but I like international missions more. God can use this opportunity to show me ministry in the US as well as internationally. I can serve in ministries here and in other countries!
This is going to be an amazing adventure that will stretch me and grow my faith! I still need around $8,000. Please pray about whether God would like you to donate. If you feel like God is calling you to donate, it would be greatly appreciated! You can use the orange donate button on this page. Thank you all for your prayers and support! God bless you!
