So we went to Tela for a weekend. And man was that weekend filled with blessings on blessings!!!
The first and greatest was meeting Cruz. When we first arrived we made our way to the beach and sat on a couple of chairs.
Soon after we were approached by a man named Cruz. He explained to us that the chairs we were sitting on were his business, that he would gladly rent them to us for the day but that our hotel would probably allow us to use theirs if we asked. Instead of demanding that we pay him for our chairs he graciously gave us all of our options.
He quickly became our friend and we chatted for quite a while. He ended up teaching us to play the drums, I had a long convo with him about faith and he even took us to his friends hole-in-the-wall restaurant for lunch. He worked on the beach not only renting chairs but also selling things that he makes (anything from bracelets to bags and keychains).
He told us he probably wouldn’t come back to work the next day because it would be rainy. He enjoys those rainy days to make the things that he sells at his home. But sure enough, he came back the next day (pretty sure he was ONLY there because he knew we would be) and hung out with us all day long playing the drums and he even set up his ‘shop’ at our table. His family was around and we just spent time all together.
What a jem and a blessing. It’s crazy the impact someone can have on you in like 30 hours
Dad, I’m fine (:
So we are safely in Granada, Nicaragua and have officially started off month FOUR! I already have my last couple of blogs for Honduras ready to go and I’ll be posting them this week.
In Granada we are working with REAP Granada and I’ll have more details on that soon! It’s going to be a super short but awesome month!
