So if you have not yet read my first blog about healing (http://amberpharazyn.theworldrace.org/post/healing-hands-in-honduras) read it and then continue on.
For the first couple of months I was learning about how God uses touch to heal. There’s examples of that all over the Bible where people were healed through Jesus physical touch.
Last weekend (a few weeks ago now-wrote this a lifetime ago and am just now posting-whoops) I was shown the power of healing through prayer. I almost feel like God was showing me His power and that my touch is NOT what’s important. He showed me that all
the power and strength lies in Him and Him alone. He gets to choose to use me in that way or not.
A family friend of our hosts went to the hospital for a scheduled C-section. Next thing we know she has hemorrhaged, was bleeding out and the doctors had given up on her. You could see the concern and pain on our hosts faces. Their tears showed me the
severity of the circumstances and the reality that this friend was dying. Minutes after we received that news we found out that a teammates grandmother had just passed away.
One of my first thoughts was if some of us should go with them to pray over her. Through that thought alone I was able to see my pride. That I thought it was all about my physical presence and touch that she might be healed. I had totally disregarded the
power of the Holy Spirit in both our hosts and the local Christians here. It was my time to intercede on her behalf but through prayer not presence.
After a few minutes passed and we prayed as a group a few of us had the same urge to worship, pray, and intercede. That night we had a worship session and I got on my knees for the first time in I don’t know how long.
I prayed that the Lord would give peace and comfort to Daniel and his family. Then I went to battle for Kissy I pleaded for her life. I asked that the Lord would save her in a way that could only be attributed to Him. That He would give us this testimony
to share as we travel around the world. That He would heal her rapidly and give that testimony to the Esposito’s, her family, and in turn this entire community. That their faith would be strengthened. That I could share what He did with my people back home
and their faith would be strengthened.
We found out that THAT NIGHT she had woken up and was able to speak. Soon after she was out of the ICU. Within days she was released and is home.
This situation also illuminated a theme that’s been coming up in my quiet times. I’ve always known that God wanted to answer prayers that coincide with His will.
"Ask anything according to His will and it will be given to you."
But over the last couple of weeks He’s been showing me instances in the Bible where people prayed for things so that God would be glorified. THAT Is when our prayers coincide with His will. If we are praying things so that we can give God the credit for
them.
God is so Good. He’s so faithful. He wants to bless us. He hears our prayers. He answers them.
