Hi there everyone! It’s my first blog, YAY! I’m so excited to start this journey with y’all. This is going to take an army. First off, I will tell you a little about myself. My name is Amber Pelican. I am the oldest of six. I have three brothers and two sisters. My mama home schools all six of us and my dad supports us by working in the hotel industry. I was born in Colorado Springs. I was raised in Chandler, Arizona until the age of seven. Then my family and I moved back to Colorado again!

God continued to expand my family when we entered into ministry as a family through the foster system. My parents teamed up with Project 1.27 and that’s how we received my two youngest brothers. At my tenth birthday party, two and a half year old, twin boys entered my life and changed our family forever. We adopted them when they were four. On top of that, my amazing mom is listening to God and still “looking” for two more kiddos.

Throughout the years I have participated in kid’s ministries, multiple outreaches, missions’ trips, worship camps, World View Academy, Israel Awareness Day at my church, cake decorating classes, art classes, all sports, photography classes, and much more. I keep very active and busy. Right now, I am very much into photography. I am currently working as a lifeguard at the YMCA that is close to my house. I am also taking some dual enrollment college classes along with my regular high school classes. I will be graduating in May!

I absolutely adore missions and that’s what led me to submitting my application to Word Race Gap Year, though I was extremely terrified to do so.  I knew I could only pull it off with God’s help. I am trusting Him completely with each and every step of this experience. I love reaching the lost and seeing the hurting and broken come to life with the hope of the gospel. Also, my life verse is Isaiah 43:1-5a and I believe this is the verse that is going to get me through every obstacle and trial Satan tries to throw my way. Even now he is trying his darnedest do distract. Right now, God is teaching me to focus on Him and rely on His perfect timing. I am so so so excited to see what the next steps God has for me are. He is such an Amazing, Gracious and Faithful Father. Thank you for taking the time to read a little bit about me! I will continue to update and inform everyone on what’s going on on this blog. Hope you have a wonderful weekend! Blessings!

Isaiah 43:1-5a  But now, this is what the Lord says he who created you, Jacob, he who formed you, Israel: “Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. I am the Lord your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior; I give Egypt for your ransom, Cush and Seba in your stead. Since you are precious and honored in my sight, and because I love you, I will give people in exchange for you, nations in exchange for your life. Do not be afraid, for I am with you;

Ecclesiastes 3:11  He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart; yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.

Lamentations 3:25-26  The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.
