“Become Friends with people aren’t your age. Hang out with people who first language is not your own. Get to know someone who doesn’t come from your social class. This is how you see the world. This is how you Grow.” – Unknown

A few notes before we start :

I didn’t spell my name wrong through out this blog I spelled it the way the children in my life say it.
I did get full permission to have the pictures in my blog by the parents of the kids. There are so many more kids in my life , So know that I Love you all.

Okay that’s it Enjoy !

As long as I can remember I have always been best friends with kids or people younger than me. I only have a handful of friends my age or older.

As I write this, I think of you all little ones,  I think of the laughs we share , and the Wednesdays that I come in and you run and hug me so tight. I think of late night food runs , Walmart trips, car rides , and even you best friend how you always growl at me.

We have had some really good times.

But I started to think …. Are you going to remember me in a year ? Will I still be the one you ask to dance in the middle of the hallway ? Will I still be your meme girl? Will we still take awkward family photos? Will I still be the girl you ask for a ride to church ? Will I’ll be the one you wanna match outfits with?

I won’t be ,as hard as that is for me to hear or type .

I will not be the one taking selfies or sharing pocket cookies, or jamming to Taylor Swift ,or going on adventures with. I won’t be the one playing ping pong chase with on Wednesdays. My face may not even be recognizable in a year to some of you.

So before that happens, I want to share 5 things I will carry with me on the race, I will carry with me Forever. I hope you will take these with you for the rest of your days.

Dear Best friends,

1. To always Have child like faith (Mark 10: 13-16)

I remember one time I felt like no one was getting why I wanted to do the race and you said “Ember who are you doing the race for ? I only have a dollar today but one day some one will double it. You must pray he will.”I’m not gonna lie I lost my breath you a 5 year old Reminding me that some days I only will make a dollar but every dollar counts and they will add up.

You always are willing to tell me verses and always have so many questions About God , You are always willing to pray with me or for me and you are always reminding me Jesus loves me. You are always striving to be followers of Christ. You always love me and show me Grace when I don’t deserve it. I want to love our Papa the way you do. Never stop chasing the Lord like you do.

2.  To always remember I am beautiful and to Remember whos I am.

Some days I feel like I look seriously terrible and honestly somedays you tell me that I do. ( Honest is the best policy )

But one day I was feeling so awful about myself. You came in and we were wearing the same hair do and I honestly thought I didn’t do it very well but you said “Amber look how pretty you look , your so kind Amber your kindness is showing so it’s making you more beautiful. You always have a glow that shows Jesus ” 11 years old and reminding me that to remember even if we are having a awful day you can still be kind and show Jesus and looks are not just what makes you beautiful. I know I shouldn’t need a reminder but we forget sometimes. So thanks for reminding me, thanks for reminding me always.

You also are beautiful. You were FEARFULLY AND WONDERFULLY MADE.Please remember that through out your whole life. Remember whos you are and that He made you just the way he wanted you to be.  The World will try to tell you different, The World will make you think you need to be different , but you are Amazing just the way God made you.

 3. Brusies are not a weakness.

I can’t wait to go and love on people, I can’t wait to share the love of Jesus. I can’t wait to learn more and to be the hands of Jesus. I Can’t wait to do what I know our Papa is calling me to do. But I Know some days will be hard and I think some of the adults in my life think I won’t be able to handle this, but you have taught me that wounds are beautiful. When you hurt yourself , or break a bone, or cut your self. You become the Hero everyone wants to see it ,everyone wants to know the story behind it . You wear it Proud, People my age and older don’t always do the same we don’t want to seem weak . We don’t want anyone to know we are hurting. You see a cut, bruise , scar as a strength and a story to tell. On the Race I know ill have bad days and have emotional bruises or cuts and I hope I remember that its a sign of suvrial I have made it through. That its a story to tell, That I am Stronger !

4. Be Patient

I Like to go and go and go some more but you have to taught me sometimes you have to stop and smell the roses. You have taught that you have to sometimes take the long road, You have to take number 999 even though number 1 is a option. You have taught me that in the storm you have to be patient and when you are you can learn life’s greatest lessons.

5. To Enjoy life even though its constantly changing. Be Courageous and Try new things.

So I’ll play the game, I’ll take pictures even though I have no room in my phone. I’ll jump off the bridge, Take the road less traveled ,Play football, I’ll laugh hard, I’ll pass out stickers and dance in middle of hallways. I’ll jump in the puddle and try the food even if its something I know I don’t care for , I’ll take the chance of ruining my new shoes ,Because you have taught me to enjoy every moment I am alive. You have taught me that I will mess up, but what matters is what I decide to take from it. I know you strive to be like me and want to grow up but please stay little as long as you can.  I didn’t have the greatest childhood , but I have had the best adulthood because of you.

You have taught me these lessons of life over the years and I hope you carry these with you too. I know this next year will be different , I hope you find you a better Amber and you love her as hard as you can. I hope you carry that extra cookie for “her”, I hope you save her a seat on Wednesdays and take her to McDonald’s ,  or make her listen to Lauren D all day and every day . I hope you scare her often and Make her sing Frozen For the 100 th time, Because you have made me a better person , You make me want to be a better person. You have taught me to love, to be kind, to laugh it off it, and to Love God most of all. I hope you know I’ll still be watching on the side line and cheering you on. I hope you know that I am so honored to be your friend, your person , your sister. I know you think I’m leaving you , but I’m not I’m carrying you with me.

I love you little one , you are a child of the light and you will always be my friend tell the end.

“Make new friends but keep the old, one is silver and the others gold. A circle is round and has no end thats how long I wanna be your friend “

You friend always ,

Missionary Amber , Ember, A, Bamber, Sister, Sis.
