Panama City, Panama is my first destination on the World Race and I am so excited! I received an email yesterday from Allison (my amazing squad mentor) that had information about our ministry placements for Panama!! I was not expecting any of this info until August when we launch so it was an awesome surprise!

Quick little backstory before I share more about the ministry we will be working with. My squad consists of 32 incredible people from across the US. We will all be traveling to each country together throughout the course of the Race. Our squad is then broken down in 5 smaller teams. Once in country our teams will likely split up and stay/work with different ministries. I have the most amazing team and what makes it even more amazing is that it’s an all-girls team. I’m super pumped about that!  I’m sure you’ll be hearing all about them as the year goes on so you might want to get to know them now 🙂 They are pictured below! Oh and by the way, our team name is Mamasitas. Not really sure how that came to be but one of the girls on my team named our group chat Mamasitas and we just all really loved it so that became our team name!

        Ali Curtis – Texas

    Courtney Calhoun – Texas

    Taylor Stamp – Oklahoma

       Mary Korch – Iowa

    Amanda Williams – Spain

     Lindsey Brown – Georgia

My team (Mamasitas) will be joined by another team on our squad and we will both be serving in Panama City together. They are another all girls team as well! We are partnering with YWAM Panama City/Chiriqui. If you’re not familiar with what YWAM is, check out the video below.

We will be working strategically and actively in Panama City in a variety of ways. Our team will be involved in a multitude of ministries and/or service projects during our time with YWAM. We are expected to be flexible and to be used in many different areas throughout the month. Some potential things we will be doing are listed below.

  • Cleaning the YWAM base
  • Assisting YWAM Hospitality
  • Cooking/cleaning the YWAM base
  • Local Kids Club
  • Nursing home
  • Boys home
  • Intercessory prayer for human trafficking
  • Assisting with church outreaches: God’s Eyes Clinic, Rollerskating with local children, etc.
  • Orphanage
  • Leading worship
  • Sharing of testimonies
  • Manual labor

I am so excited for these many possible ministries and this is definitely making this trip more and more real! I can’t wait to partner with YWAM Panama City/Chiriqui, bond with my team/squad and meet some new people. If you haven’t done so, please subscribe to my blog! That’ll be the easiest way to stay connected with me while I am gone. Simply click the orange subscribe for updates button, enter your email and you’re all set! I can’t wait to share with you more as this year goes on and give you a glimpse into my life. Thank you again to all of you who have made this trip possible by supporting me financially. I hope you’ll follow along on this journey so you can see the people you’ve been able to impact because of your generosity.
