Dear Friends,

I hope you’re having an amazing year! Can you believe it’s already 2015! It’s hard to imagine that for the past 4, almost 5 years I’ve been working at Weld County Garage in Greeley, CO as the Event Coordinator and Service Cashier, but before that I spent 3 months in Brazil doing mission work with underprivileged children. I have always had a passion for missions and helping people and now I have another opportunity to do just that, but more long term.

I have been accepted into a program called The World Race; it’s 11 months in 11 different countries where I’ll spend one month in each of the countries! I’m very excited about this chance to reach out to people in far away countries and share God’s love for them. This has been a dream of mine for years and I can’t wait to see what God has planned for me during this time.

I’ll be going to China, Philippines, Malaysia, Cambodia, Thailand, Uganda, Rwanda, Ethiopia, Albania, Serbia/Bulgaria and Romania! Crazy list huh! We will be doing something different in each country depending on the needs of the local missionaries. Those needs could range anywhere from working with orphans, sex-trafficking victims, those with HIV/AIDS and gypsies to teaching English, leading sports camps and ministering to students of all ages.

I’m praying that during this trip I will be able to grow closer to God and open my heart up to new ways of worshiping and serving Him. I’m hoping to discover more of who I am in Him and what He has for my future because I know that He has something great for me and I pray that He will reveal His will for my life through this experience. While in Brazil and over the past 4 years, God has continued to bring verse after verse to my mind about spreading his love, The Gospel, to all corners of the world, to all nations (Matthew 28:19-20). He has encouraged me to be the one to go and do this with verses like Isaiah 6:8 which says: “Then I heard the Lord asking, “Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?” I said, “Here I am. Send me .”So I have stepped up and said, “Here I am, send me.” I believe that God has called me to be one of His messengers, someone who will take His word and His love to people who may have never heard His name before.

For me to be able to do this, I have to raise $16,266.10 by my 6th month on the field: January 1, 2016. I have to be fully funded by then to continue with the trip. I have no idea what God has in store for me during this time that I’ll be in the field, but I do know that I’m going to be stretched beyond my comfort zones and my abilities and that I’m going to have to learn to trust and lean more on Him to provide the necessary strength and patience to get through. My hope is that you will pray about supporting me in this adventure, whether through prayers, financially, or both; they are both extremely important for my success. If you have any questions about any of it, please let me know and I’ll do my best to answer them! You can go on the website and look specifically at my route and get more information on each country I will be working in. The website is at the bottom of the page and I will be going on the Route 2 trip, we leave June 27th. If you subscribe to my blog, you will get email notifications when I post something. Thank you so much for taking the time to read this. Again, know that I’m here to answer anything you have questions on. I’m excited for this journey and to hopefully partner with you to share Jesus with the nations!

Sincerely,

Amber Slone

Ways to Support Me:

*My team and I are going to be needing a lot of Prayer, so if you could be praying for us, that would be a huge support!

Donate by check: make it out to Adventures in Missions with the memo line saying “Appealed By: SloneAmber”
Mail to PO Box 742570, Atlanta, GA 30374-2570
Attach the donations card to the check and send it in as well, if you do not have a donations card, let me know and I will get one to you, or you can give me the check and I will send it in for you.
Donate by Credit Card: On my blog go to the “Support Me!” tab on the left-hand side. This will take you directly to my donation account. It will show up as Adventures in Missions on your bank statement.
Monthly Support: This is very important because it is a continual donation leading up to and/or throughout my trip.

*To break it down some, if I had 100 people donate $20 a month for the next 10 months, then I could have my trip entirely paid for, supplies and all by the time I leave.

*While $16,266.10 is the necessary amount for me to stay on the trip, I am also needing supplies and about $100-$200 a month for personal expenses, which all adds up to about $20,000. This is the amount that I am using when I break it down by monthly donations (above).

*Subscribe and Share my mission and my blog with your friends and family.

*Donate Supplies: go to my gift registry sites to see what I am needing.
