Hmm what can I say about me? Well, first off I’m 24 years old and I’m from Colorado. I work at a car dealership as the Event Coordinator and Service Cashier and have been there for 4 years. I have an awesome family that I love and will miss a ton! 2 brothers, Aaron (older) and Jose (younger) and then of course my parents, David and Stacey and all of our extended family. Without them and their support, I wouldn’t be the person I am today!

This missions trip is a big step for me, but I have had a passion for missions since my first trip to Brazil when I was 14. Working with the children there and seeing the difference in their lives verses mine really made me think and I saw that God was calling me to missions. For years I’ve gone back to Brazil, to Canada and around Colorado doing mission work.
In 2009, my sophomore year of college, I felt this desire to go to Brazil and live there for several months. I decided to stop going to school to work full-time and finally in Sept. of 2010 I was able to move to Brazil for 3 months and work in 2 community centers working with under-privileged kids. I taught English, helped with devotionals, cleaned, and did whatever was needed and I loved it. I really felt like I was doing what God had planned for me to do, working with people and showing them his love.
Once I was back home I immediately wanted to return, or to go somewhere else to do missions and I found The World Race but it didn’t feel like the time for me to do it. Over the past 4 years I’ve looked into the World Race on and off again and I finally felt like it was the right time to go so, here I am! this summer I felt God telling me that it was time for me to go. How did I know he was saying that? I met 5 people in less than 2 weeks at random events or get togethers who had all been on the Race before and as I talked with each one the more I knew that it was God’s way of telling me it was time for me to go. So I applied and was immediately accepted.
I’m really excited about this opportunity, I can’t wait to see what God has planned for me through this; to see how he will use me to share his light and his love with those who I meet during these 11 months, how he will work in my life and bring me closer to him. I’m excited for him to reveal his plan for my life. I know that I’m really going to be stretched to my limits, that I’m going to be out of my comfort zone and that I’m going to be challenged. I also know that through that God is going to work in my life, he is going to show me new things, new ways of worship and love, I’m going to learn more about myself and about who he wants me to be. I know that a lot of the things I experience aren’t going to be easy for me, but I know that with Gods help, I will get through each challenge and I will come out stronger than before.
