So often we have a hard time with Gods truth from His word because it is completely opposite of the worlds “truth”. The world tells us we have to be beautiful by their standards, have lots of money, and think about ourselves above all else. All of these they claim will make us happy but we know, deep down, it won’t!! Only Jesus can truly satisfy. Another great lie we are told by our culture and the enemy of our souls is that we must be strong!! Have it all together! Fake it till you make it!! We have a heavy burden on us that says we must be strong enough to make it or we won’t survive!!! This has been something I have ALWAYS struggled with!! I have always felt the need to have it all together, to live up to people’s expectations and to be perfect! That is opposite to the teachings of Paul in God’s word!! 2 Corinthians 12:9a says: But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” It is in Him we find our strength!! His grace is enough to hold us together! He is the one who holds the world in His hands, not us!! His word continues: “Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.” We need to start holding ourselves to a standard of Grace, and NOT perfection!!! We also need to embrace our weaknesses and stop pretending that we are even remotely capable to do anything apart from Him!! We can’t!! The Bible says: ““I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing. If you do not remain in me, you are like a branch that is thrown away and withers; such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned.” John? 15:5-6?. Recognize your weakness and CLAIM HIS STRENGTH! We have so much power in us from the Holy Spirit and it’s time we stopped listening to the world and starting listening to the Word!!!
