Long time, no see. I know.
But, here’s the thing.
I am an imperfect human being.
I am an imperfect human being
who loves Jesus a whole lot.
I am an imperfect human being
who needs that Jesus grace daily.
I am an imperfect human being
who is constantly chasing after freedom.
I am an imperfect human being
who went on a bit of a blog strike.
So, here’s the story.
Adventures in Missions really pushes for us to write blogs. They want them cranked out daily because the organization uses them as advertisement. Of course, not every blog is going to be shared because not every blog is deemed worthy of such a calling. I’m being a bit dramatic, I know. But, it is true. Somewhere along the way, I lost the focus of what MY blogs are for. My blogs are not for AIM to share and that’s really not my focus, but overtime I sat down to write a blog for this space, that’s all I could think about thus creating the great blog strike.
What does this point to in me?
selfishness.
arrogance.
lack.
PRIDE.
Momentarily, I began to seek validation and worth from a lingering, unrealistic desire to have my blog shared. When I would try to write knowing that I wanted my blog shared, but there was about a .1% chance that it would happen, I let myself believe that I wasn’t enough somehow. That Jesus wasn’t enough.
I let my pride get in the way of the joy of sharing my journey with all those who have faithfully been supporting me, praying for me, and encouraging me every step of the way.
I am learning
to accept freedom Jesus freely gives.
In order to have that freedom,
I must share the good things,
the bad things, the messy things,
and all that He has to offer in between.
It is prideful for me to think
that I don’t have to share
when I easily can.
Give out what you want to receive, right?
Over the next few weeks, I am going to go back over emails that I have been sending out and turn those into blogs that I can share with everyone. Bare with me as I make up for at least six months of blogs, but feel free to ask questions as I go and I will eventually compile a blog to answer those too.
In turn, I would love to know what your life looks like and how it has changed over the last eight months or so. Shoot an email to [email protected].
Jesus doesn’t just work on the mission field miles away from you. He is working everywhere. He is working in your lives whether you’re a student, a stay-at-home mom, a retired parent, or a wandering traveler somewhere in between. I’d love to hear about it and encourage you, too.
Thank you for your grace and forgiveness for my selfish lack of sharing.
