Another Valentine's Day on another continent, I'm OK with it- something about celebrating holiday's outside of the US of A= special. At home I probably wouldn't have cared too much that it was V-day. I wouldn't go out of my way to say "Happy Valentine's Day" to every passerby (asians+all) or be offended if people ignored it altogether… but being away gives me some sense of patriotism(cue I'm Proud to be an American song)+ I go to extreme lengths to celebrate the crap outta the day of love…
Don't know a thing about St. Valentine, but there's no doubt in my mind he'd be proud of our team V-day picnic including, but not limited to, 7/11 delicacies like hot ham+cheese sandwiches, cookies, cheese crackers+cold coke… nothing says love better than an entire meal for eight people purchased from a gas station-mama like.
Cool things:
-Got to hand out Valentine's+candy to the Bangla Road girls(attempted to write in Thai, god bless google translate)
-Got roses from Seth Barnes himself (the head honcho/ Dumbledore of our organization happened to be here this week-pretty coo.)
– Got those heart candies +they weren't the chalky, tums-esque kind, but the sweet tart kind-yes please (thanks Mrriah's ma)
-Got reminded that the infamous "love chapter" read at most weddings isn't just for tradition's sake, but it's truth that we need to hold onto here+not just on the day o' love…
that oldie, but goodie:
"love always trusts, perserveres+hopes"…"love never fails."-1 Corinthians 13:6
