If you have seen the following letter in your mailbox or received it via email or even if you are reading it here for the first time, it means that you have officially been invited to be a part of my World Race Team! I cannot do this alone and really do consider you an indispensable part of a team that is sending me to do Kingdom work in each of the countries in which I will serve.  11 countries.  11 months.  1 mission.

Hi friends,

I am writing this letter to share with you a door that God has opened up for me.  Over the past few years, God has been preparing my heart for global missions.  Last summer, I had the opportunity to travel to Haiti with members of my church on a distributed journey to serve the least of these.  While there we built relationships with the locals, cared for the orphans, and prayed over the sick and elderly.  In getting to know the people of Haiti, I realized that they had some of the most beautiful spirits I had ever seen — a joy and a happiness that could only come from God.

After I returned home and got back into my regular routine, God continued to tug at my heart, reminding me that He wasn’t finished with me yet.  I wanted to live for something more. I wanted my words and actions to reflect Jesus. I wanted Him to break my heart for what breaks His.  I wanted to become the woman God desires me to be.  No longer being able to ignore the call, I applied and was accepted to go on an 11-month mission trip called The World Race.  This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to set aside everything I thought my life was about in order to be the hands and feet of Jesus.  As part of the World Race, my team and I will serve in partnership with churches and ministries in local communities to share the Gospel, plant churches, work in orphanages, restore dignity in women and children trapped in human trafficking, and bring the restorative hope of the Father’s love to many tribes and nations.

I know that I will face many challenges throughout the World Race and I could not do this without the support and encouragement of my friends, family, and community.  As I prepare for launch in January, one of my greatest challenges will be financial support. I need to raise $15,500 in order to serve in the field for these 11 months.  As I take this huge leap of faith in trusting the Lord, would you prayerfully consider joining me with an $11 monthly donation for the next 11 months?  While I am on the race, I am going to be living out of a backpack on a very limited budget.  Most of the time I will be sleeping in a tent, without running water, and eating the same meal 3 times a day; because of these simple living conditions, your $11 will go a long way in supporting me and allowing me to share the love of Jesus all over the world.

Please see the information below in order to set up your monthly donation or to give in another way as you feel God leads you.  I would welcome the opportunity to talk with you further and answer any questions you might have.  God bless you as you prayerfully consider partnering with me in this ministry.

Thank you!

How can you help send Amber on The World Race?

Pray

This is going to be an incredible journey, but a challenging one as well. I will need prayer and lots of it — Prayer for me, prayer for my team, prayer for my family back home, and prayer for the people we will encounter.  For those of you who would like to pray over more specific needs throughout the course of the race, please email me at [email protected] to be added to my prayer team.
