Hola from South America!
This is my first blog from the field and I could not be more excited to tell you how my journey began. It’s day one and we are in Quito, Ecuador with 5 other teams. The first thing we did was head to church with the interns from IncaLink, the ministry in town that is graciously hosting all of us crazy World Racers! After a morning of worship in Espanol and fellowship with some of the local folks, a few of the teams headed to El Mitdad del Mundo – the Middle of the Earth better known as the Equator!
It’s one landmark I can now check off my bucket list, but more importantly as I am standing on the red painted line marking latitude 00°00’00” I realized that there is no where to go but up. God is calling us higher and right now, with one foot in the Northern Hemisphere and another in the Southern Hemisphere I am centered on Christ and reorienting to the mission He has for me in 2015 – to go from the middle of the earth (quite literally) to the ends of the earth sharing the Gospel.
Team Dunamis will spend the next three days praying for the Lord’s guidance and direction, completing Unsung Heroes (UH) training and stepping into our roles for the month. Then later this week we will leave Quito in search of new ministry contacts throughout the country. I will follow up with more details about our UH ministry soon!
Que Dios te bendiga!
