so we walked 2hours into this massive jungle, with wild animals all around!
using machetes to clear our path. We enter an opening with tribesmen painted all over
in differrent designs, wearing what looked like a frayed skirt with various
bells and pieces of bone on them.

Is that what comes to mind when you hear the word tribe? I thought so to! But
our slim river experience was nothing so primitive. We actually took a van up
some mountains, back into this far away spot. The tribe lives on a reserve,
just like the native americans in the US. They are native malaysians. Each
house looked the same. a square room, with contact paper covering the ground
as carpet.

Each reservation we went to (we went to 6) was the same thing. Just different
areas, although, they were all very poor. The three days we spent with the
people in slim river were definitely some of my favorites on the entire race
so far! We acted out David and Goliath for the kids and sang songs with them.
We did a few of our worship songs for the people, and then we shared a
message.

My favorite time was when they would worship in their native tongue, it was
so beautiful. Hearing all the children, and then seeing the older people
singing with them, praising the Lord with all they had! The presence of the
Lord was in every church we went to! It was truly incredible. I never wanted
to leave.

6 of us gave a message since there were 6 services. Each one resulting in an
alter call. We got the opportunity to pray over the people. Declaring healing,
life, truth, and love. Each service there was a group we got to pray over
individually for specific needs. Each message we shared was 100% God because
each one was exactly what that group of people needed to hear. I fell in
love with the native malaysians! They are truly some of the most beautiful
people I have ever seen inside and out. Please keep them in your prayers!
They are hungry for more of Christ, He is moving in their lives, and they just
want more! 🙂
