As I prepare for the World Race Gap Year I am praying for my team and I am so excited to see what other people God adds to my team in the near future. We have a group message that provides us with the opportunity to begin bonding and exchanging tips with each other. It has been fun chatting with my team members and it has given me the chance to ask any questions I may have. I have learned a lot of us have the same questions, but we have also learned so much from one another already.
The other night I was reading in Ephesians and I came across a verse that made me think of my team! In Ephesians 4:16 it says “He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.” When I read this I thought of my team as a body. We have already bonded so much and I know that as we go out into the field God is going to use us in such a way that we work in such harmony like the body of Christ that is described in Ephesians. I know that throughout our journey we will grow closer together and closer to God. As I continue to learn about each person on our team I can see where we are different and yet so much alike. In Ephesians it says “each part does its own work”. We are not all the same but God will use our strengths and weakness to help us work better as a team. By working so well as a team, our whole group will be “healthy and growing and full of love”, I am overwhelmed with excitement knowing this.In the book Kisses from Katie, Katie talks about how you can’t tell someone about God’s love if they don’t know what love is really like. She talks about how if someone has never experienced a parent’s love and care it will be hard for them to understand that God loves them more than a parent ever could. I pray that we are more than just a group but a body of people who work perfectly together. A body of people who loves as Christ does.
