Here goes me blogging, something I’ve never done. I’ve never been really good at writing, and I kind of keep to myself, so this is out of my comfort zone. Here goes…
I heard about World Race years ago and thought it was an awesome opportunity, but I’d never be able to go because I was hoping to be married and start my career.
Last year was a tough year, and I really began to struggle with my purpose in life. So I began asking God what my purpose was.
Last fall, my favorite band, United Pursuit Band, had a spiritual retreat in October. I went to a breakout session called Finding Your Way: Navigating Life’s Challenging Decisions. After the session, I was waiting to talk to the speaker and started talking with another girl who was waiting as well. I told her briefly about struggling with my purpose. She recommended me considering World Race. It was interesting to begin thinking that this could be a possibility for me. So I began researching and praying. I talked with a few trusted friends, and I talked with someone I know who’s been on World Race. She recommended me applying, praying, and seeing what happened. So I did.
Last Christmas, I was still asking God about my purpose. When I was with my family over the Christmas holiday, God replied and said, ‘Your purpose is to live for others.’ … I was relieved. I can try to do that, it’s not full of pressure and performance.
World Race is part of me living for others. I’m so excited to be able to be on this journey. I am excited to see what God will do and how people’s lives will be positively changed.
Will you partner with me on World Race and living for others?
