I am young, but I am also strong enough to make my own decisions. Sometimes, when the generations that came before us look at my generation, some of them may think well they are just too immature, they do not know what they are getting themselves into, they are too young to make such big decisions. So this blog goes out to not only my generation but the generations that have come before us and the ones that will come after us.

To the generations that came before us, thank you for paving the way in everything we do today. Thank you for passing down traditions and stories that could only come from our loved ones. Thank you for passing down your love and discernment to us. To my generation keep on being yourself, being you is the best you that you can be. Keep on paving the way for the next generation, keep on pushing the limits on what you don’t think you can do, you can do more than you think you can. If you are feeling overwhelmed and you feel like you aren’t in a good spot in your faith, go to someone you trust. Don’t hesitate, don’t keep it in and let it fester inside of you, go to someone. To the next generations. Know that you are loved by a Father who loves you unconditionally, that no matter what your home life is like, there is a God who will always be there for you, even when you can’t feel that he is there. When you are going through a hard time or season in your life and feel like you cannot do anymore keep pushing forward.

I was given this advice and it was good advice, it is “Fake it till you make it”, it does not always work, but most of the time it works. We only get to be young once. We make mistakes, we get in trouble and that is all okay. We learn from everything we do, we learn from our mistakes, we learn to do better when we don’t make mistakes. We are constantly learning in every aspect of our lives. People may look down on us because we are young, immature and sometimes stupid. Don’t let them, stand up for yourself.

1 Timothy 4:12

Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith, and in purity.”

As I prepare to go out, I am young and I may make bad decisions or wrong decisions and I may be stupid sometimes, but I have people, amazing people, around me to help me learn from my mistakes and push forward. I will set an example for my friends on the Race, for my friends at home and my friends away at college, but I will also be setting an example for the next generation and the generations that came before me. I’ll leave you with this “It is a wonderful feeling being a bridge to the past and unite generations.” As we are about to go out we are uniting generations letting them know that we can work together, to have there goals and that is to bring people to Christ, to make Heaven more crowded and be a nation that turns back to God.

Romans 15:13

“May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Sprit.”
