wow… WHAT a week! It’s hard to believe that not even a week ago we were back in the states preparing for this journey!! Each day has been interesting from start to finish, with God revealing new truths in the midst of it all. This past week we have basically been in the middle of the jungle at our first location doing a lot of manual labor. None of it has been easy for me, but my team and I are capable and go into each day with a willing heart.
This week God has taught me so much. Each day I feel as if I’ve reached the end of my strength pretty eary on- what we are doing is physically and mentally challenging. God has shown me that I can’t make it through the day without Him. My own strength isn’t strong enough. I find myself praying this prayer constantly “Lord I need you to fill me with YOUR strength. Renew me Lord. Without you I am weak, so Father send your Holy Spirit to rebuild my strength“ I am repeating this all the time- though every hard task, through every emotional moment.
I am still learning how to ask for His strength each day and rely on it consistently, but our God is a patient Father, willing and desiring to work with what we offer Him. This work we are doing is meant to glorify Him, so I want to do it well. And I need His strength to do that. So I am learning, it is a slow process, but with the Father it is possible.
