This month we worked with some amazing contacts. The Race frequently puts us in contact with people who are passionate for serving the Lord. Often they have suffered much, and their dependence upon the Lord to provide is an inspiration. One of these inspirations is a woman is named Kim Sreoun, and she is a part-time staff member at the Youth Development Center. However, she desires to go deeper into her faith and she wants to participate in the Discipleship Training School through YWAM (Youth With A Mission). Our team felt called by God to support her in this, and so we are seeking to give her a gift to assist her in the costs of this program.
Here's what the team has to say about this wonderful woman of God:
Kim Sreoun is an incredible woman. It has been such a joy to work alongside her the past 3 weeks. The love of Jesus simply radiates off of her and how she lives her life. She has a desire for more of the Father and to understand His truths and character. Kim Sreoun is the type of person that you meet and know without a doubt that she is going to do incredible things for the kingdom in her life. -Tyler
I am so thankful for Kim Sreoun because she is selfless and is always making sure others are feeling loved. She does this by serving our team on a daily basis by going to the market at 5 every morning to make sure we have the needed ingredients for our meals. She also explains the culture to us so that we can better understand and love the people in Cambodia. Kim Sreoun is such a joy and treat to all she meets. Kim Sreoun has such a joy and passion for the Lord. It doesn't surprise me that after a few weeks of knowing her, that she is wanting to go out and share the love of Jesus with others. -Kaitlyn
Kim Sreoun started out as a quiet young woman who helps cook meals for us and gets us where we need to go; but she quickly became a woman filled with joy and laughter, and it wasn't long before we thought of her as a friend. She is hardworking, dedicated to serving others, and desires to learn more about the Bible. Her family has suffered from the war and corruption in Cambodia, but Kim Sreoun has worked hard growing crops and working in a factory to get through High School with integrity. She desires to continue schooling while also supporting her family. She is a beautiful example of love and sacrifice for others. – Alison
Kim Sreoun has been such a blessing to our team this month! Not only is she our translator, ministry contact, and a sweet friend, she is also a daily reminder of God's work at YDC. Kim Sreoun came to know Jesus and His love while attending English class at the Youth Development Center. She now works at YDC, with the desire for other students to know Jesus as well. She has turned down other jobs where she could make a lot more money in order to take part in the kingdom work Jesus is doing here. She is an amazing leader, well-educated, and a very hard worker. -Amanda
Even though she receives persecution, she wants more of Christ in her life, and desires further education and knowledge in the Lord. This is why she is pursuing the Discipleship Training School (DTS) through YWAM. I am confident that the Lord has great plans for her. She is faithfully stewarding her gifts, always serving, always putting others before herself, and I know that the Lord wants to put her in a position of greater influence because of this.
Our team would like to give her a gift, of providing the funds for the lecture series (the first 3 months) of the DTS. The cost of the first series is $300 (I am looking to personally raise $75 of this). So we are asking our supporters to join us through financial contributions, to help Kim Sreoun take the next step of God's plan for her life. Please contact us individually about how you can support!
Love,
Team Ascend the Hill
