I am beyond excited and blessed as I begin preparing for this trip in July. Since I was in high school the Lord has placed a desire in my heart for the nations and for the gospel of Jesus to be told to all people. This desire continued to grow as I spent my time during college plugged into churches and ministries that were dedicated to sending people out into our city, our country, and our world to share the gospel. Then when I attended Passion 2011, I first heard about modern-day slavery and human trafficking. Ever since I have had a passion and motivation to advocate for justice, fight for freedom, and help escort both slaves and their traffickers into the presence of Jesus where they can find healing, forgiveness, and redemption.
I graduated from NC State University in May 2011 as a completely different person than when I entered in August 2007. These four years held some of the best times of worship, community, learning, beauty, and joy. However during this time I also encountered great pain dealing with my own brokenness and the deceitfulness of my own heart. God used this time to eventually strip me of everything down to my core. Did I really believe who Jesus said he was? Did I believe God was sovereign, all-wise, all-good, merciful, and faithful to keep his promises? These were questions that I had to ask myself. And as God has worked in my life, my new heart screams "YES" and points to Jesus saying "there is abundant life! i have found it. i have found joy that is not just for the moment, but forever. i have been reunited with my Creator who I was meant to be with all along."
With this being said, Jesus gives me faith and asks me to risk everything; leverage it all for Him. I am desperate for Jesus. My only hope is Him. He has shown me great mercy, beautiful redemption, brought about seemingly impossible heart-change, and provides me with security and peace. Because of this I want to go. I want to go and tell others about Jesus. I want to grow in dependence on Him and on His Spirit. I want to leave everything for Him and live for His glory. I am so thankful for the opportunity to go on the World Race knowing that I will experience great community and be able to share words of love and life with people from 11 different countries.
If you want to know more about my story please let me know and if you have any further questions about the World Race or financially supporting me, I would love to talk with you! Thanks!
