Last night I sat down to type a blog and catch you up on all that has happened in Lithuania thus far. Well I successfully typed two sentences and couldn't continue. For one, there is WAY too much to catch you up on and I had no clue where to start. I think I could type 5 blogs on all that has happened the past week. And if 'm being honest, I'm tired of typing. Haha. 10.5 months of emails, messages, blogs, and online conversations and my fingers are worn out. I would give anything to sit down with you over a cup of coffee and share stories face-to-face. And thankfully I will be able to do that in only 3 weeks! But for now I am going to pass along blogs from my team leader and squad leader to share some of what has happened thus far 🙂

Alyssa was my team leader the first three months of the Race and has joined my team for our final month! It has been such a blessing to have her with us 🙂 Through a series of thoughts she had throughout the day, Alyssa tells the story of our travel from Latvia to Lithuania. We went from being homeless on a park bench to sitting in a pizza shop for 4 hours to being taken in by a Korean pastor and his wife who didn't know us at all and spoke zero English. Yeah…you wanna read this one!

Homeless Hobos, CiliPica, and Korean Superheroes

Today, my team and I ventured to downtown Vilnius to talk with some of the locals about their thoughts on Christianity, the character of God, and the supremacy of Jesus. Lithuanian culture and religious history has suprisingly grabbed my attention more than any other country on the Race. There is a spirit of silence and supression in Lithuania when it comes to anything personal including beliefs about God. We believe that in order for people to experience Jesus and the love of our Father, they need to start opening up and allowing their hearts to be softened by truth and a new revelation of Jesus. Our prayer is that through our conversations, hearts would be softened and Lithuanians would experience freedom to ponder the existence of a God and their need for a Savior. In the following blog, my leader Chip shares his experience from these conversations today!
