Welcomeee to my very first blog! I’ve finally found the words to explain this new chapter in my life. If you aren’t already familiar with The World Race Gap Year, it is a 9 month mission trip that consists of traveling to 4 different countries with a team of about 50 people. My route includes Thailand, Malaysia, Costa Rica and Ecuador (!!!!). In just 7 months I’ll be packing my bag to begin this new journey that has me feeling anxious but also very hopeful. We will be serving the local communities through the churches, schools, the streets, and orphanages. As a team we will do anything from teaching English, construction work, working with any victims, and any form of spiritual love that will reach to the people.
Coming across this opportunity at first was so very easy to put in the back of my mind, simply to stay comfortable with where I’m at. After a couple months I had brought this discovery to some friends and family members where each had told me- “What are you waiting for?!” I brought this decision in mind to the Lord with a heavy heart, wondering is this worth pushing back college another year? I bet you could guess what his answer was. I realized I was letting my fear hold me back on what the Lord wanted to show me. I truly believe that as a Christian, we are called on to be fearless in a way that makes you run towards the unknown, to not be anxious, and to live as if you had the courage of a lion.
Proverbs 28:1 says “The wicked flee when no one is pursuing, but the righteous are bold as a lion.” Choosing this path is just the beginning of a life led to righteousness and boldness. I am led to assure that greater is He within me, and I have no fear of things on this earth.
I am incredibly thankful for this opportunity, to really discover the ways of a missionary, and to truly be bold in the name of the Lord. The thought of being able to serve others from all different backgrounds with all different stories leaves me feeling incredibly full of life and I am truly honored for this part of my life to begin! As I begin this journey, I ask you to build me up spiritually in any way you can. I’ll be blogging usually once a month to share any news that is to come! Prayers, questions, conversations, or donations are so deeply appreciated on my behalf.
Thank you for taking time out of your day just to read this blog post and I hope you decide to stick around to see what’s to come!! Live boldly people!!!!
