Well hello there!

So I’m quickly going to clarify the differences between the words route, squad, and team to all of you because I know I’ve thrown them around and forget to fully realize that these terms are not in common lingo to those who don’t know much about The World Race.

Route:

The World Race has different routes that depart several times per year. They are categorized into the month that they leave. One group in January, one in June, August, and October. Each month has anywhere from 3-5 different routes, each traveling to different countries. I am on August 2018 Route 2 traveling to Haiti, Dominican Republic, South Africa, Botswana, Zambia, India, Nepal, Romania, Albania, Bulgaria, and Serbia.

Squad:

My squad are the people that are on my same route whom I will be traveling with and doing ministry with each month. There are a total of 31 people in my squad. We will all be in the same country at the same time, but may not be working with the same ministry.

Team:

In order that we don’t overwhelm ministry hosts and make our presence in each country as spread out as possible, touching the lives and communities of more people, we are split up into teams of 6-7 people. These individuals are the ones I will be living with and doing ministry with on a daily basis. My squad of 31 people were split into 4 teams of 6 and one of 7 at Training Camp. These teams may or may not change throughout the course of the 11 months, pending strengths and weaknesses, conflicts, injuries, illness, etc.

Now that that’s settled and hopefully clarifying, let me give you a brief introduction to my lovely team for at least the first month!

Lauren Luttrell: Our fearless and tender-hearted team leader. She is so intelligent and adventurous with her heart set on the Lord.

Ashley Simmons: Our vlogger and one I highly recommend following on YouTube since she’ll be capturing life on the Race in videos and does a phenomenal job. She is down to earth and has the most contagious laugh.

Hannah Ernsthausen: Wonderfully bubbly and hilarious. She has a huge heart for others and can always put a smile on your face.

Abby Maston: Extremely genuine and loving who has the kindest heart and know exactly the words to say to lift your mood.

Elle Luly: Super spunky and unique who is absolutely beautiful inside and out. She is willing to be vulnerable and encourage others.

These 5 women will be my daily support system and I am excited to get to do life with them!

Please pray for our team and squad as we are getting closer to our departure date and are trying to wrap our minds around the fact that we’ll be leaving our home and comfort zone in ONE MONTH!!!

Much love,

~A
