Yesterday was my golden birthday! 23 on the 23rd!!!
I was expecting just another day, but it turned out to be a day that I was embraced with love and support from my family and friends, which was overwhelmingly joyous! Knowing my nursing boards are a week away, I knew I needed to study for a few hours so I started off my morning in a computer lab cramming out a couple hundred practice questions. My roommate and best friend, Steph, then took me on a couple adventures around Columbus. We picked up her wedding dress, took my bridesmaids dress in to get altered, laid out in the gorgeous Ohio weather (where I unintentionally got a tad burned even with sunscreen application…sorry mom), swam in a pretty gross and chilly lake, killed some time by walking through Ikea where I was treated with a free frozen yogurt, went to Chipotle to surprise my other roommate who was working who blessed me with a FREE meal, and finally came back home to a surprise of my own. My family drove in to wish me a happy birthday and gave me a delicious cake (like this cake is ‘almost’ to die for…so good guys!).
Not only was yesterday full of smiles and laughter, a few tears were shed too (I promise…they were happy). For those who don’t know, I am in the midst of another fundraiser called Adopt-a-Box. It’s pretty simple. I have a poster board with boxes 1-100 and I am asking people to prayerfully consider ‘adopting’ 1 or more boxes, adding them up, and sending the money straight to my fund. I started this on May 19th and in just FOUR DAYS, I went from

What a birthday present! I have raised a total of $986 with more on the way!!! GOD IS SO GOOD Y’ALL!!!!!
This support raising season may not be super fun, is a little stressful, and takes up a big chunk of my free time, but yesterday, I was quickly reminded that GOD PROVIDES! I didn’t ask for much for my birthday, but God gave me exactly what I needed; an adventurous day with my best friend, a surprise visit from my dear family, mouth-watering delicious cake, and an outpouring of financial support and encouragement.
So thank you! Thank you for your prayers. Thank you for your financial support. Thank you for sharing my story. I literally cannot do this without you!!!
