The way God answers our prayers is amazing. It may never be clear or immediate, but He always shows up in the end in the best way. God has continuously done this for me the past two months, and He never fails to amaze me every time.

This past Monday I went with my squad mates Kimberlyn, Nicole, and Brandon for ATL. There were other groups going to the usual places, so we decided to just walk around and see if anything caught our eyes.

After walking around the park and the mall, Brandon decided he wanted to talk to one lady who worked at a small hole-in-the-wall restaurant that was on the way to one of his ministries. I went to talk to her with Brandon, and he kept the conversation going in Spanish while I stood there trying to translate in my head. Miraculously, I pretty much understood everything, I just couldn’t speak to her. Brandon asked if she had any prayer requests, and she told us she had arthritis in her left knee. My heart immediately began to ache for her (I don’t exactly have arthritis, but I know plenty about living with a horrible left knee that’s in constant pain). She seemed hesitant at first but led us to the back of the restaurant so we could pray over her, limping the whole way.

Brandon and I both laid hands on her knee and began to pray. When we were finished, she told us she didn’t have any pain. She nervously paced across the floor, her limp slowly going away. A huge smile spread across her face and tears welled up in her eyes. She then thanked us and asked us to pray for her restaurant and her family. We gladly laid hands on her again and prayed. She gave us hugs and said goodbye before going back to work.

Brandon and I left the restaurant jumping up and down in excitement. That was our first time seeing someone receive healing. Brandon told me about how he had been praying to God that he would get to experience healing someone, and his prayers were definitely answered. While it may seem like God doesn’t hear our prayers, he does. Everything is in His own timing, and all of his promises are yes and amen!
