We asked for adventure and adventure is what we got.
We have been on the worldrace for a little over a week now and to call it an adventure is an understatement. Week one has been filled with days of travel daze, bucket showers, airport sleepovers, wifi battles, and learning Afrikans.
We are living in a small 1 & 1/2 bedroom 1 bath home with our host Elizabeth and her daughter Remillia and niece Jamie. Elisabeth’s home is filled with love, which she pours out to us with her servant heart. We are blessed to call her home our home for the month.
Update we are not doing sports ministry as I thought. Our ministry is alongside Pastor Ivan and his beautiful bride Pastor Bronwyn. We are getting immersed in their community of Lavender Hill in Cape Town South Africa. We have done prayer walks, served at an old age home, and met at an orphanage where we will help at next week.
To sum up what God is teaching me in one blog would be impossible. To put it simply I am seeing God move everywhere in South Africa. I see him in the heartfelt prayers of my team mates. I see him in the smiles of children. I see him in the eyes of the elderly. I see him in the passion of our ministry host. I see him in the way Elizabeth, Remillia, and Jamie serve us.
I can’t wait to see what adventure the rest of the month will bring us and what God will do through us.
This is Elizabeth.
