You know that song.. "That's Life" ? I was jamming to it the other day, the SMASH version ( recently tv binged on the first two seasons, a fan for sure) and the line at the end "I thank God for the present, that's life" caught my attention.
How often do we thank God for the present?
How often are we present in the present, much less thankful. If it's not my future consuming my thoughts/prayers/actions it's dwelling on the past.
Tell me I'm not alone here!!
To top it off now that social media rules the world we are consumed by what has happened ( what photos/vines/snap chats are waiting) or taking photos/video etc that we will post that we miss out on the actual moment, on what's right in front of our face.
The worst part is, it's become SO normal. No one gets mad at your for obsessing over your future or getting caught up on the past because we are all guilty.
Confession. I have not being thanking God for the present. I am dwelling on the past year at Bethany ( the good/bad all of it) and obsessing about the future (the race/ the in between)
NEW GOAL:
Thank God for the present, and work as hard as possible to be completely present and enjoy the now, right now.. instead of looking back on it later and realizing what I missed. I hope you will too!!!
In other news you people blow me away with your support. Thanks for letting God work through you, and giving so graciously. God is good.
