Vietnam ——–> Ireland ———>ROMANIA!!
It’s been a while.
I am sorry.
Months move in a blink, days drag by and everything kind of runs together on the race. So here I am ending month 8, asking God where the minutes went and what he has for month 9, 10 and 11.
Most of my squad is together this month in Coleraine, Northern Ireland. We are serving with Vineyard church and my heart was lit on fire from day one.
At home I have worked at churches since the start of college, so to get to jump in and have a part in so many ministries at a church has put me right at home. After a couple weeks my heart aches at the thought of leaving. We know the church, the people, the town, it feels so comfortable. We are recognized, and not just as racers but by our names.
Everything this month has gotten me so excited for what’s next.
After moving to California and working at Bethany for a year I thought I was done working at churches for a while. I knew the race would change a lot but I didn’t want to claim church work as my future because I felt discarded and dismissed from church work. I didn’t feel wanted or worthy of anything but an internship.
God is working on me and redeeming that.
He wants me. He thinks I am worthy.
This month has been nothing but church work and I adored it. My heart loves what the church can be and God is going to use me to help the church be what it can.
I know those roots run deep- it’s not just the church that makes me feel unwanted and unworthy and I know God isn’t done with redemption and healing.
So what’s next? I sure don’t have a clue but I know God will lead me here just like he did the race, and I know it’s going to be an adventure and it’s going to be okay.
Two bigger things.
We found out we fly into JFK 11/25 at 5 pm. Please pray for us as we work through the re entry process, knowing that needs to look very different for each of us.
