Next month, E Squad men will be traveling to South Sudan for MANistry while the women continue on to Uganda. The 27 of us have been split into 5 teams, one of which I will be leading next month! I couldn't believe it when the squad leaders asked me to pray about leading a team for women's ministry month. I have always considered myself a good follower – not leader.
At first, I didn't want to do it. I kept thinking about all the ways I might fail. Why not just save myself the embarassment? But as I thought and prayed about it, I realized it wasn't just the squad leaders asking me to lead a team, God was. He put my name in their heads. He was – IS asking me to trust Him in this, that He knows what He is doing.
I am still nervous and feeling a bit ill-equipped but I'm also excited! I have 5 amazing women to support me and grow me: Trena, Caitlin, Helena, Ada, and Lydia. And I have my Heavenly Father to guide, protect, and teach me! Please be praying for a selfless, humble, wise and loving heart in me as well as strength, endurance, patience and peace.
